Artists

The Highwaymen are a group of African American landscape painters who in the 1960s and 70s showered Florida with their glowing interpretations of the tropical wilds. Twenty years later their forgotten paintings became recognized as markers of modern Florida and the American dream. In 2004 they were indoctrinated into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, a function of the State of Florida.
